Horse Registration
There is a one time registration fee of $20.00 to obtain a number for all horses that
qualify as Foundation Bred under the guidelines of the FHR. Register Your Foundation HorseQualifications

The eligibility requirements for receiving an FHR permanent number are simple and easy to
apply.
 | Be currently registered by owner with AQHA
or APHA. |
| Take your horses pedigree, and trace it back
to all ancestors born prior to January 1, 1952. All registered Quarter Horses on the
pedigree born prior to that date are considered Foundation Bred. Then check to see if
since that date your horse has more than 20% Thoroughbred blood added. If not, the horse
is eligible for a permanent number. For purposes of computing Foundation blood, the
Thoroughbred horse, Three Bars, is considered Foundation, as are all lines that come to an
"unknown" ancestor. |
| No horse tracing to the AQHA sire,
Impressive, is eligible for an FHR number, and no appendix registered horses are
eligible. |
| Non-members must submit membership fee plus
registration application fee. |
| Submit a copy (both sides) of your AQHA or
APHA registration papers, showing the applicant as owner, and the applicants FHR
membership number. If your horse is ineligible, both the check and pedigree will be
returned. |
| Members send $20.00 per horse, you will
receive individual FHR number and laminated card. |
| An extended, frameable, pedigree, for your
horse, is an additional $20.00. |
