The Hancock Horse Breeders Association was started in 1992, when a group of Hancock
breeders had their very first meeting at an old trotting track in Goodyear, Arizona.
No one knew how many people would come, and in fact no one knew how many people
actually bred Hancock horses. When over 40 showed up, everyone was amazed!!
The group elected Henry Kibler, of Chandler, Arizona, president. Emily Underdown,(Averill),
volunteered to be executive secretary and the job of historian fell to Walter Lamar,
of Isabella, Oklahoma.
Over the years, the association has held auctions, produced videos, printed an occasional
newsletter, and has been one of the prime supporters of the web site FoundationHorses.com.
There are currently almost 100 members of the Hancock Horse Breeders Association,
and they represent breeding operations in both the United states and Canada.
New members are always welcome, and anyone with questions about membership in the
association or where to buy a Hancock bred horse in their area, or with specific
bloodlines, is encouraged to call or e-mail the main office at any time.
